🔬 Call for participants: Chess players wanted for brain research (KU Leuven)

The Royal Belgian Chess Federation would like to bring a scientific call for participants to the attention of its members.

Researchers from KU Leuven are looking for experienced adult chess players for a study on brain activity while evaluating chess positions.

♟ What is the research about?

This study investigates how the brain processes information while looking at chessboards. During a computer task, you will evaluate chess positions while your brain activity is measured via EEG. You will complete a short online training session beforehand.

👤 Who are we looking for?

• Adult chess players with an Elo rating ≥ 1800
• No medication affecting the brain in the past 2 weeks
  (1 day in case of migraine)
• No scalp conditions

📍 Practical information

• Location: KU Leuven, Tiensestraat 102 (Leuven)
• Duration: maximum 2 hours
• Compensation: €50 upon completion of the study
