The Royal Belgian Chess Federation (RBCF) is pleased to share the infographic on Chess in Detention across Flanders and Brussels, provided by De Rode Antraciet.

Key figures show that 10 prisons currently offer supervised chess programs.

Recently, De Rode Antraciet organized the first digital match between Wortel and Oudenaarde via Chess.com on 07/11/2025.

Previously we already reported about the Wortel prison enlarging their library with Chess books, and hosting a simul chess game with Jan T’Sas.
