Continuing our efforts to strengthen the Belgian chess community and create more visibility for our beloved game, we are happy to share a new collaboration for the upcoming year.
The RBCF will be partnering with the selection process for the Your Next Move (YNM) 2026 event. As part of this initiative, tickets will be made available at various events throughout the year, offering players a chance to participate in a simultaneous exhibition against a true legend of the game.
Your Next Move will be hosting the simultaneous event against Nigel Short on October 21st 2026, at the KMSKA in Antwerp.
We are starting this journey immediately. The very first tickets for the simul against Nigel Short will be awarded during the Belgian Youth Championship (BYC) in Blankenberge.
This partnership is part of the broader YNM 2026 festival, which also includes opportunities for youth players to qualify for matches against Garry Kasparov.

14.02.2026 - 05:22Het is zeker bewonderenswaardig wat men voor de jeugd klaarkrijgt. Als je dan de opties voor volwassenen bekijkt kunnen we niet spreken over eenzelfde kwaliteitsvol event in de Floreal. Zou het voor accolodatieredenen ook niet beter zijn dat het BK voor volwassenen niet in de zomer , maar de winter/lente doorgaat. Of waarom niet samenvallend met het bycco ?
