The European Youth Chess Championship, organized by the European Chess Union (ECU) and the Czech Chess Federation takes place during 21 August – 1 September 2024 in Prague.
This year, Belgium is well represented by a group of 28 young talents, accompanied by federal coaches FM Martin Ahn (Head of Delegation) and FM Rudolf Meessen, and their parents. There are 6 age categories, from -8 till -18, for both Open and Girls sections. The tournament runs for 9 rounds, Swiss format, with a time control of 90 min + 30 sec/move pppp.
The results are published on the chess-results server and some of the games can be followed live on lichess (rounds start at 15:00 CET, lichess broadcast with 15 min delay).
