40th International Open of Geraardsbergen / Flemish Open Seniors Championship 55+ and 65+

We would like to invite you to either tournament in Geraardsbergen. Unlike other tournaments, we still have plenty of room! We do not offer a mass tournament, but a quiet tournament in a relaxed atmosphere in the Flemish Ardennes.

On the final day, VSF Seniors Championship participants will be offered a cheese buffet leading up to the awards ceremony.

The organization will provide the main prizes, in addition prizes per point won will be donated by the VSF. For those coming by car, parking is available within the domain just 30 meters from the playing hall. The train station is 200 meters from the venue. It is possible to take a bye (½ point) until round 3.

Participants in the ^40th Open can take two bye’s (½ point each) up to and including Round 7 at their option. We offer them the opportunity for a quick lunch between games in the nearby restaurant, this from noon to 2:30 pm. Sandwiches are always available in our bar at your choice. In the evening there are side activities: on Monday and Tuesday there is Fide-Rapid, on Wednesday the Fide-Blitz, preceded by a barbecue. Hiking and cycling tours are possible, and for the enthusiasts, boating on the Dender.

Registration is still available on site until the last day on Sunday, Aug. 3, until 11 am.
