5th Open Seniors 55+ 

Dear Chess player,

We would be happy to welcome you to our 41st Open FIDE or, if you prefer, to our 5th Open Seniors 55+.

There is still time to register but, if need be, don’t wait too long to book an accommodation because everything fills up quickly. See also item Accommodation on the website.

Both  Opens will take place from Sunday 2nd August  to Thursday 6th August  2026, and this at the same location, namely the Koninklijk Atheneum of Geraardsbergen, Papiermolenstraat 105. The 41st Open has 9 rounds and the 5th Open 55+ has 5 rounds (one round per day).

If you cannot participate, there are still in he evening the two Open Rapid tournaments on Monday 3rd August and Thursday 4th August (at The Preacher, Markt 9 (main square), 9500 Geraardsbergen ) and the Open FIDE blitz tournament on Wednesday 5th August at 9 pm after the barbecue (€ 25) at 7 pm,  at the Koninklijk Atheneum, Papiermolentraat 105
