Invitation: Sahel International Chess Festival 2026 in Monastir, Tunisia

The Royal Belgian Chess Federation (RBCF) has received an official invitation from the Tunisian Chess Federation (FTE) for our members to participate in the second edition of the Sahel International Chess Festival 2026.

The event will take place in Monastir, Tunisia, from October 24th to November 1st, 2026.

Venue and Pricing

The festival will be hosted in a 4+ star hotel located on the Mediterranean coast. Participation costs are particularly competitive, with rates starting at €480 per person for eight nights on an all-inclusive basis. The organizers highlight this as a safe, comfortable, and well-organized destination for a chess trip at a reasonable price, ideal for players traveling with their families.

Tournament Program

The festival offers a comprehensive program catering to all levels:

• Open A: Opportunity to achieve norms.
• Opens B to D: Targeted at various categories.
• Youth Events: Dedicated competitions for younger players.
• Senior Competitions: Specific events for veteran players.

Registration and Delegation Details

As the FTE considers the RBCF a sister federation within the Association Internationale des Échecs Francophones (AIDEF), they are eager to welcome a diverse Belgian delegation, including titled players, norm seekers, youth, seniors, and accompanying family members.
